Michael is Larkstoke’s founder and a Chartered Accountant with over twenty years’ experience advising the asset management industry on UK tax matters as both a professional advisor and in-house specialist. He is also a member of the AIMA Tax Committee.
Having worked with many of the leading names in the industry, he is equally at home working with entrepreneurial start-ups as he is with FTSE 100 multi-nationals. A technical commentator, he has published work in the AIMA Journal, Bloomberg Law, HFM Week, the Hedge Fund Law Report, TaxAdviser Magazine and the Tax Journal. He also has a Masters degree in Physics from the University of Warwick.
When not working Michael is a keen amateur cyclist, naming the firm after Larkstoke Rise – a challenging hill climb on the edge of the Cotswolds that proves upon ascent to be far more challenging than it first appears – not unlike the UK tax statute.
